Sunday Morning

The yard was full of critters this morning.

We had a very very young fawn stuck in the backyard. It was on one side of the fence and the doe was on the other side.

It may have only been a few days or hours old. It had a hard time even walking, there was no way it was jumping the fence like mom.

He/she wandered into the woods and we didn't see him or her again.

We have a lot of geese families but most have 6 or 7 goslings. This has 11, the most I've ever seen.

The turtles were out too.

Goslings usually march in line.

And swim in line.

Green

Over the last week we've had a lot of rain. One day coming home from lunch, just after it had stopped raining, everything was so green and lush that it felt like a tropical rain forest here.

Backyard Wildlife

It's been a while since I did a things in my yard post, and my camera is always sitting on the kitchen counter.
Most days you can look out the windows and see deer, especially if we leave corn for them in the feeder.

As soon as things start warming up, the turtles are out, large and small, getting sun.

It's not often the snapping turtle is out sunning, usually we seem the walking across the front yard.

Springtime means baby geese since we have a pond. The first thing they learn is marching single file behind mom.

Next comes swimming lessons.
