Chagrin Falls

I'm out of town for work this week so I took my camera. This is the pretty little village of Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

The first day was cold but no snow.

These are the upper falls on one side of main street.

These are the lower falls on the other side of main street.

Downtown square a couple of days later during a snowstorm.

It was so cold, my fingers were frozen by the time I was done.

New Toys

For christmas I bought some electronic toys for high speed flash photography. I'm only just starting to play with it and these are some of my first experiments. More and hopefully much better to follow.

Single drop after it hits the water and forms a spout.

Once the water spout hits the right height, the top starts to break off into a drop.

The drop at the top of the water spout then separates.

Shooting the flash through a red filter.

Two drops, the 2nd drop is colliding with the water spout from the first drop.

Not water drops, deer in the yard today.

All the deer looking at neighbor's dogs.

Fall Colors

I pass a couple of ponds and lakes on my way to work and when it's cool at night and warm during the day there is always a thin laver of fog covering the water that makes it very pretty with the trees all starting to turn colors. These were this morning on my way to work.

Day 20 - Redwoods National Park

We finally made it to the Pacific. We sepnt the morning driving down the foggy California coast. The redwoods are amazing, they are so big and so tall. It's strange to be standing in front of something that's maybe 1000 years old. After the redwoods we decided we were tired and had seen enough so we filled up the car and drove home.

Day 18 - Hood River board sports.

Hood River is world famous for it's wind related board sports, it was wind surfing and now it's kite boarding. The Columbia River Gorge acts like a big wind tunnel. It was fun to watch but I can't imagine doing it, I remember trying wind surfing in Hawaii 20+ years ago and it didn't go well, to say the least.

Travel day(s), Va to RI

From Staunton Va we headed east to Norfolk then across the Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel. We drove through Maryland, Delaware and spent the ...
