My winged nemesis

This white Heron visits my pond once or twice a week during the summer. I've been trying for years to get any good photos of it, but it's the shyest bird ever. I can get photos out the bedroom window, but open the door to the deck, try to sneak around the corner and "boom" he's gone.

Last summer he let his guard down, I was able to sneak out the front door and crawl across the front yard and get some photos thru the bushes. Hopefully none of my neighbors drove by so I never had to explain what I was doing.

At first I was shooting through an opening in the bushes around the pond.

Finally I was able to crawl around to the end of pond to get photos without bushes. I never noticed that empty bucket until I was looking at these photo, guess I will have to add "clean pond" to my to-do list for next summer.

He finally noticed me and he was gone.

The ducks and the geese are completely the opposite, unless you walk right up to them, they just ignore you.

The turtles are a little shy, you can walk around the pond but just not get too close. They ignore you to a point, then move one step closer and they all head straight into the water together.

WTD 16 - Wake the Dragon

Our spring car trip to the Trail of the Dragon with our S2000 friends from all over the eastern part of the country.
Stopping at the "gravel" parking lot at the west end of Dragon after a group run.
It can't be a group trip without at least one group photo.
Stopping for photos and social time to talk about cars on the Cherohala Skyway.

The weekend was also one of the scheduled weekends to let water out of one of the dams so all the rafters and kayakers were out having fun.

Atlanta Aquarium

The large tank is amazing.
Cuddle Fish.

The jellyfish are very cool but very hard to photograph, between the darkness, trying to get them in focus, and reflections from the glass tanks.

There are several walk thru tunnels so you feel like you're inside the tank.

Who's watching whom?

Grab Bag

A little of various stuff from fall of 2015.
Met up with some car nut friends for a spirited saturday afternoon drive, a fun mix of WRX's, 911's, NSX's, S2000, 458, Lotus etc...

Just a little cool for top down, but turn the heater up and it works.
Beautiful fall day for a drive.

View out my bedroom window after a early fall storm.

Wildlife in the backyard.

This guy was tempting fate in our backyard just before thanksgiving.
Another weekend car trip, this one with the S2000 club in Chicago. We took a Saturday run from there to one of my favorites places, Starved Rock State Park.

Our neighborhood watch goose. I have no idea why he finds it so relaxing to sit in the middle of my front yard.

I love watching the deer jump the fence in the back yard, they make it look so effortless.

RTD26 part three

By day 2 our 4 cars had turned into 7. By Friday we finally made it to Fontana Village NC and met up with another 40ish cars. Our fall tri...
