Once we made it most of the way down from the top the sun was out so we stopped and went hiking. We started on the Trail of the Cedars then switched to the trail up to Avalanche Lake. It was only 2 miles and yet it was all uphill and at altitude. By the time we made it to the lake I was breathing so hard that any bear within a mile could have heard me so I guess we were safe.
