Canyon X3

 

The steps leading down into the bottom of the canyon.

Sometimes it takes some effort to get the perfect view.

After Page I headed east through Kayenta then north past Monument Valley and on to Moab. The drive is amazing.

Just north of Monument Valley is Forrest Gump Point. If you've seen the movie it's where he finally stops running and it's actually a pretty busy spot for photos. So many people it's hard to get the photo you want. Every time a car goes past several people go lay in the middle of the road to take shots until the next car comes.

At one pull off I stopped for 20 minutes and finally gave up and left. A woman was doing a photo shoot with her little dog. Every time the road cleared she's sit her dog in the middle of the road and shot photos until the next car.
