NSXP 2022 heading home

 

From Phoenix I headed north to the red rocks of Sedona and the drive is beautiful.

North on 89A from Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon. There were doing construction so several miles of the switch backs up to the vista was one lane. The longest light I've sat through, 20-30 minutes. Long enough people got out of their cars and had a nice chat.

From Sedona you pass through Flagstaff then north on 89 to Page AZ, an amazing drive.

Just before you reach Page the road heads uphill and this is the view back down the canyon. The Colorado River near the base of the far cliffs.

 

Just south of Page is the Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River.

 

This what you don't see in all the iconic photos of Horseshoe Bend, there are hundreds of people everywhere and you have to work to try to take a photo without anyone in it.
