Rocky Mountaineer - Rockies to Red Rock 2024

Summer 2024 we took the train from Denver to Moab and back. It was a wonderful trip, lots of scenery, great food and service. We had a great time and would do it again.

After flying into Denver and spending the night we rolled out of town the following morning. This is a very interesting building next to the tracks that has some kind of hiking trail that runs throughout the building.

Once you get out of Denver you start heading up in elevation into the foothills of the Rockies.

Our last view of downtown Denver from the foothills, before we head into the rockies.

Most of the trip runs along the Colorado River, lots of fishing, rafting, kayaking, etc..

Between the rail cars the vestibules were open to get some fresh air or take photos, I spent a lot of the trip with my head and camera out in the breeze.
A new dam they are building just west of Denver to create another reservoir.

One of the many tunnels we passed through.
