From Acadia we headed west and Cuyahoga Valley National Park but took a detour in New York to visit Watkins Glen. I've seen photos from there and always wanted to visit to photograph the waterfalls in the gorge. We chatted with a family at Acadia that had just come from Watkins Glen so they gave us the inside scoop. They said there are 800 some steps in the gorge so park at the upper lot and walk down, then take the shuttle back up to your car.
We started from the upper lot and pretty early in the morning so there were not a lot of people. As we walked down the gorge it got more and more crowed and by the time we made it to the lower entry it was almost impossible to get any photos without people in them.
